Hi everyone-
Within the next couple weeks I should be releasing quite a bundle of stuff.
Here's what's coming:
1. latest revision of SyncMemo
2. Beta version of SyncAB, address book conduit
3. Tip calculator pilot app
4. Complete Restaurant database package,
includes Pilot app, PilotManager conduit, AND unix tool!!
Details below... happy holidays! :)
- Alan
-----------------------
SyncMemo v1.4
Changes from v1.3_2
** Added ability to skip "Fast or Full sync" dialog and just use a
default value. (see new controls in config dialog)
- Reduced usage of shell calls for faster code and less memory usage.
- Removed translation code for old format of preferences file
(upgrade from v1.04_01 or older will now lose prefs)
- Includes bugfix for categories with spaces, which I posted to the
alias a while back.
SyncAB v0.95 BETA
Some of you out there have my old alpha version of this conduit for use with
Rolo. I completely rewrote the code for this beta version, with a much cleaner
and robust syncing algorithm. Formats supported in this release:
- Rolo
- CSV
- vCard
If you have any recommendations for tools to test the CSV and vCard formats
with please let me know.
TipMe v1.0
Another tip calculator? Yeah, well this was the first pilot app I wrote, so
I started with something easy. You might like this one though, as it includes
controls for tax and tip rate, dividing the total up among a group, and
rounding off the total, tip, or share per person to the nearest dollar.
(after rounding the new tip percentage is shown)
Food v0.9 Complete Package
If any of you have used TealMeal you might have noticed it is pretty weak.
(the wheel of food is cool though) Anyway, I decided to write a better
restaurant database. As I neared completion I decided it would be cool to
have a PilotManager conduit for it, so I wrote that.. then I realized the
conduit doesn't do much if there isn't anything to do with the files on my
workstation.. so I ported the pilot app to perl/tk and now I have a unix
viewer too.. voila! the whole enchilada!
Food features:
- Records store:
restaurant name
info (address, phone, etc)
food type
location
closing time
extra info (such as if they have take out/deliver, do they
take reservations, credit cards, etc)
- Customizable lists of food types and locations, and extra info types.
- DB searching on restaurant types and locations, closing time and
extra info.
- Supports system wide searching on pilot.
- Easy access to menu by clicking title bar (even if you don't use
HackMaster+MenuHack)
- Easy double-tap on any restaurant in list to see info.
Features to be included in v1.0 release:
- Additional fields:
restaurant "rating"
note
(these fields are already in place in the record format, so no
db translation will be required.. I just need to add controls to
the gui to support these fields)
- Searching on rating
- SORTING of db records (they currently are stuck in the order you
enter them)
