Connection could not be established

Hi All,
This is a new install and I am getting the following error:
The connection between your PalmPilot and the desktop could not be established. Please check your setup and try again.
PilotManager,v1.100
SS20/2.6
Serial Port B, Service enabled, 9600 Terminal type tv1925, Initialize only, Software Carrier, PortMon zsmon, create utmp entry. Serial Cable 530-1869
Conduits on both Pilot and SS20 calendar only.
Pilotmanager is set for /dev/ttyb 9600
Also geeting the following error by clicking on the hotsync button in the PilotManager tool on the SS20.
