Why invent another "generic" address card format? vCard already is
THE generic address card interchange format endorsed by

- Internet Mail Consortium
- Four11
- Lotus
- Microsoft
- Netscape
- IBM
- Oracle

IMC provides a library that can read/write vCards on UNIX
and other popular platforms. For specs and source code
see http://www.imc.org/pdi/.

The Pilot guys at U.S. Robotics claim to have a vCard mapping
in the works. Sun's own desktop (both on Javastations and Solaris)
is likely (hint, hint) to soon have the ability to create/lookup vCards.
Sun-internal users can download specs and 2.6 sparc packages from
http://nsgmktg.eng/power_client/SolarEZ/
