Re: Installation fo PilotManager V1.100

Wow. Pardon me for barging in here, but I can't resist.

What you're missing is that the application is not a commercial
product (I notice you're from SunSoft, but I won't use the
opportunity to start asking you similar questions about FCS'ed
products :-) that may very well be without a sponsor at Sun.
Sun owns the code but no one at Sun is responsible for it.
Bharat, correct me if I'm wrong.

You do, and I'm very disappointed that you haven't released the
context diffs to make the installation idiot-proof. :-)

It's really easy to write automation code that is too smart for
its own good. Nothing irks me more than pretty, one-click
software that does the wrong thing.

Not to jump on you, Neal, but I think you're misinterpreting the
software functionality/distribution model here.

As an aside, I think those of you on the SWAN have a much easier
time of installation than those of us who don't know what it
stands for (or can barely remember. :-) It took me more than
a few minutes to locate, collect, and build the necessary support
stuff that I was missing or ahead/behind a release on. The FAQ
would benefit from links to ftp locations.

It goes without saying too often, so thanks to Bharat for giving
me get the new revs of the perl modules.
