I'm currently in the process of writing a conduit to PilotManager to handle 
e-mail.  However, I don't have much free time to work on this so it may be a 
little while before it is ready.  I will, of course, notify the alias when 
preliminary versions are ready for testing.  If anybody has specific feature 
requests please feel free to let me know and I'll add them to the list.

Below I've included a brief feature list of what my plans are for what the 
conduit will and will not do.


FEATURE LIST:
The first version will perform the following tasks:
- Copy mail from a workstation local mailbox (including nfs-mounted
  mailbox but not including an IMAP server) to the Pilot mail program.
- Read any mail composed on the Pilot and send it.
- If mail is deleted/read on workstation, this status will be updated
  to the Pilot on the next sync (status change on Pilot is currently
  not reflected on workstation).

Future versions will (hopefully):
- Handle multiple mailboxes
- Update from Pilot to mail server.
- Support IMAP servers
- Your feature request here.


CURRENT STATUS:
Stuff still to be done before preliminary ALPHA version is made available:
- Add functions to allow preference configuration.
- Read prefs from Pilot (sync prefs, signature, etc.)
- Add signature functionatlity
- Some bug fixes.
- Clean-up of code

I'm hoping to be able to make an alpha version available within a month, but it 
will depend on my schedule and when I can find free time to work on it so I'm 
not making any promises (this is not a work project so I have to work on it on 
my own free time which is somehwat limited).  Until then, any of the suggestions 
made by other people on the list should work.
