Re: flat file conversion tools?



The problem that everyone seems to be glossing over is that you really
want something to *continue* to use the database on both Unix *and*
the Pilot.  You'd like to be able to update the database on either
and sync to the other.

The comments about Pilot Desktop also only apply, of course, to the
Windows Desktop, and this list is about the Unix tools, so they're
really not germane.

I'm surprised, in some ways, that there aren't tools for this on Unix
even today; but in other ways not at all, since a flat-file grep database
really is a convenient way to store contact information.  Even xrolo
is really nothing more than a flat-file text-search database.
