"Unable to create "foo" in Calendar Manager

I bought my first PalmPilot, installed the PilotManager for SPARC/Solaris
(SS20), and tried to HotSync.  The two computers successfully communicated,
it seems, but the PilotManager showed:
	Unable to create <the appointment> in Calendar Manager.
many times in its window.  After that, all my appointments
in Solaris are gone.  (You don't think I read the instructions
carefully and made a backup of the calendar, do you?)  Appointments
in PalmPilot were, fortunately, un-affected.

Could someone tell me how to trace and fix this problem?
